TAT (Thematic Appreciation Test)-I
for SSB
(Star SSB Magazine Practice Series)

General Rules:

1. A SET OF 12 PICTURES WILL BE FLASHED.

2. 11 ORDINARY PICTURES (SKETCHED OF CARTOONED OR REAL) + 1 BLANK PICTURE

3. TIME BOUNDATIONS: 3-4 SECONDS FOR THE PROJECTION OF PICTURE & 3-4 MINUTES FOR WRITING THE STORY ON THE BASIS OF SHOWN PICTURE

4. EVERY PICTURE SHOWN HAS A SITUATION WHICH GIVES THE BASE OF THE STORY, WHICH IS THE REACTION IN THE FORM OF YOUR THOUGHTS.

5. THE BLANK SLIDE PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY TO THE CANDIDATES TO FORM A VIRTUAL SCENE & WRITE AN IMAGINARY SITUATION IN THE FORM OF A STORY.

6. DO NOT WRITE STEREOTYPE STORIES.

7. TRY DIFFERENT THEME FOR DIFFERENT PICTURES (STORIES).

8. THE STORY SHOULD HAVE A 'HERO' & THE AIM SHOULD BE TO BRING ABOUT THE QUALITIES (OLQs) IN HIM.


TRICKS TO ATTEMPT TAT (Thematic Appreciation Test)
1. Remember the picture will have two elements-  The foreground (The visible main character) and The Background (The environment or other supportive characters).

2. You should give a name, age and sex to your main character (i.e, the hero), if required, the same can be done for the other characters too.

3. Your story should have three parts viz;
a) What led to the situation (opening part-2-4 lines)
b) What is happening at current moment (as per picture, middle part- 6-8 lines)
c) What is the final outcome (end part - 1-2 lines)

4.There should be no villain in your story (-ies) and the Hero should lead the story.

5. No Title or Moral of the story is required.
6.. A past tensed story is good.

7. Convert a negative picture (or situation) into positive.

8. Don't describe the picture.

9. Handwriting should be legible without any cutting or overwriting.

10. The story should be written in English, however if you struck on a word, write it in hindi and immediately revert back to English.
