DAY 1-SCREENING TEST
PART II (PP&DT)
On the 1st Day of SSB Interview Process, You'll be called for Screening Test (This will be the 3rd test for the Flying Branch Applicants after PABT). This Part of the test is known as Picture Perception and Discussion Test. (Also known as PP & DT)
In this test you will be shown a picture on the screen for 30 seconds & you have to perceive the condition as shown in the picture and the mention on the answer sheet provided to you. The key is that you have to answer 3 basic questions and you all done! (But this test is time based. So keep your writing speed fast enough to mention all aspects.)
Lets make a quick glance on the sample answer sheet first:
Here you'll see the usual particular blanks, where you have to fill your relevant details.
Now Move slight down, there you'll see two blue ovals. Initially the box will be blank, and you have to make such ovals, representing no of persons shown in the figure (You may scroll down to view the Picture).
In the ovals you have to mention "S-A-M' (Just memorize it!).
S-Sex (for male, write 'M', Female='F', If unable to detect the gender, write 'P' which stands for person)
A-Mention the Age.(Don't worry for the exactness, its purely depends upon your perception)
M-Mood.(If you feels that the person shown to you is happy, write '+'; If sad or Angry, write '-'; for Neutral Mood, write 'N')
In the 'Action' column, Just mention the present situation, what's being going on in the picture shown to you in 1 sentence. For Example, in the Shown Picture the action (What I perceived), may be written as: "A Boy is being Interviewed"
Now Lets scroll further to see the Sample Picture:
Usually the time allotted for for writting the story is 4 minutes. After the story is written (or say when time is over!) you will be divided in groups of 10-12 candidates and you will have to narrate the story in a cyclic order. (So whenever you get chance in the meantime, just memorize your story, and even if you were unable to complete it, while writing, just make your story further to give an impressive end!).
Once the narration is complete, then you will proceed to discuss the stories. (The discussion is not open ended, try to retrieve an impressive conclusion). After the discussion (or when the allotted time finishes), you have to give a conclusion through the leader of the group (you have to select the leader who was good and impressive in the discussion).
You have to follow some golden rules to go through this test. You may find the rules and tips of Group Discussion Techniques by Clicking Here.
