DAY 1-SCREENING TEST
PART I (Intelligence Test)
On the 1st Day of SSB Interview Process, You'll be called for Screening Test (This will be the 2nd test for the Flying Branch Applicants after PABT). This Part of the test is known as Intelligence Tests.
It comprises of two parts namely:
1. Verbal Reasoning
2. Non-Verbal Reasoning
Lets Discuss in brief about these tests with some examples.
1. VERBAL REASONING
Reasoning is the process of acquiring indirect knowledge through direct knowledge. This test is an effective measure to judge candidate's level of intelligence.
How to prepare for Verbal Reasoning
You need not to get busy for many hours with Verbal Reasoning books available in the market with great pump-n-show front cover and heavy MRP at the back side. You can't spend so much time for a loss because you have to prepare the other aspects of SSB too. Just you need to boost up your calculation and analytical speed by practicing nearly 130 questions (with full solution and correct answer) a day at one sitting. Again remember that it is a time based test so you must be able to solve nearly 100+ questions in the span of 30 minutes. Don't worry about your present speed, it will improve when you practice like this.
If time permits (If you have more than a month's time to report at SSB Centre) then you must prepare topic by topic for the Verbal Reasoning from some available books of Verbal Reasoning in the nearby book shop. Here I am giving the list of some important topics with Example Question so as to provide a bit of idea to you (You May Click on the Desired Test to view the sample Questions with answers):
1. Analogy
2. Blood Relations
3. Coding-Decoding
4. Direction Sense Tests
5. Mathematical Reasoning
6. Classifications
7. Number Series
8. Puzzle Tests
9. Sitting Arrangement Tests
2. NON-VERBAL REASONING
This part of the test is an another effective method to judge the candidate's level of intelligence. Unlike the previous test (Verbal Reasoning) this test is designed to test one's skill to understand and interpret different signs and symbols. This test do not require any master level of skill to solve. Just you need to boost up your analytical ability by practicing nearly 100 questions (with full solution and correct answer) a day at one sitting. Again remember that it is a time based test so you must be able to solve nearly 60+ questions in the span of 15 minutes. Don't worry about your present speed, it will improve when you practice like this.
If time permits (If you have more than a month's time to report at SSB Centre) then you may practice from some available books of Non-Verbal Reasoning in the nearby book shop. Here I am giving the list of some important topics with Example Question so as to provide a bit of idea to you (You May Click on the Desired Test to view the sample Questions with answers):
1. Analogy
2.Completion of incomplete patterns
3. Completion of Series
4. Cubes
5. Dice
